Read why's (poignant) Guide to Ruby and Dave Thomas's Pragmatic Programmer in high school in the mid-2000s and got obsessed. I went looking for a Rails shop for my first job. I loved that Ruby had Perl's hacker spirit and Smalltalk's elegant object system. I moved on to other languages a few years later.
